Comfy,Cute and Cozy

Earmuffs & Gloves-Duffy's, Sunglasses-H&M, T-shirt-Forever 21,Coat-Macy's (gift from the Mr.),Leggings-American Apparel, Bag-vintage, Boots-Chinese Laundry

Well I admit this may not be my most fabulous outfit, hopefully the back drop makes up for it.

This was another day of intense wedding venue hunting, this time over in New Jersey and this time, much much colder. Whenever it's this bitter cold, all I want is to be comfortable, which is accomplished here via a cozy and fun colored tee, fluffy and furry jacket, ear muffs and gloves and very warm,home-made boot liners (I cut off the sleeves of a $3 Goodwill sweater....Oh Pinterest, how you waste my time you saved my life again!).

Flannel and Fur

Sunglasses: Sample sale, Watch: Invicta, Tank Top: Old Navy, Flannel shirt: H&M, Jacket: Forever 21, Jeans:Michael Kors, Shoes: Target

It's getting down to crunch time for us to select a wedding date and venue so this past long weekend was spent driving to various appointments all over creation....ok really just NYC and Long Island...but it felt like creation.

I chose outfits that were comfy enough to be driving around in (side note: it really comes in handy having a guy's closet from which to also choose outfits....nothing beats the comfort of their flannel shirts!), cozy enough to keep me warm in the oh- so-balmy temperature of 18 degrees and still looked semi-put together for meeting with professionals.

Workout Wear

I am a walking contradiction. I am writing about workout clothing while stuffing my face with buffalo chicken dip and potato chips.

In case you are anything like me and abruptly forgot your New Year's resolutions almost right after you made them,  I thought posting some cute workout gear would help to re-motivate us all. Everything is under $25 and comes in a variety of fun and motivating colors.

1. Striped Rib Knit Tank (another option)

2. Fold Over  Yoga Capri's (another option)

3. Yoga Mat
4. Terry Sweatshirt
5. Athletic Shorts(comes in many fun colors)

6. Long Sleeved Workout Tee (comes in bright colors)
7. One of my favorite things to do is buy men's tank tops for workout. You can't beat the price or the comfort. These come in a nice variety of colors.
8. Cute socks
9. Performance Sneakers

10.  A fun tote to carry all your gym essentials in
11. A cute reusable water bottle

12. These headbands come in a variety of fun patterns and colors.

13. Bling Ear buds

14. After workout jacket w/a removable hood (these are also some nice options)

Work to Play

Dress & Belt: Calvin Klein
Tights: Target
Flats: Cole Haan
Sweater:Charlotte Russe
Jacket: Forever 21
Clutch: Vintage

My schedule as of late has been one giant modge podge of a jumbled mess.

It's hard for me to keep a lot of things straight, including my clothes and possibly my brain.

Work earrings                        >>>>                                  Play earrings

Actually it's really quite hysterical the amount of things I'm trying to jungle. Yes I wrote jungle when really I meant juggle....go ahead and laugh.

With everything to do, I have learned to become a pro at taking outfits from day to night. At any given time you will probably find me with an extra pair of shoes, a clutch stuffed inside my handbag in which  there may or may not be jewelry, possibly two scarves around my neck and I don't know, maybe a jar of cookie butter because you never know when you might get hungry on the run.

You can never be too prepared...

Christmas

Dress, belt, and coat: thrifted from Rag-O-Rama (coat was last years find; dress is originally Target Mossimo), Earrings:KT Collection, Gloves:Duffy's, Shoes:Steve Madden, Bag:Chanel

Yes, I know Christmas was on Sunday.

No, I am not stupid.

And yes, I like to do things backwards.... Or wait til the last minute.

I had envisioned my Christmas outfit for quite sometime (OK,like a week) based all around these shoes. I liked the idea of using bows as the theme because of presents with...OK,OK you get it. I mean I'm so cliche it's disturbing, I know.

Anywho, I envisioned this but my vision had yet to materialize. I hurriedly packed for Indy and hoped that I threw something together for an outfit.Once in Indy, I hurriedly rushed out the door for some last minute gifts and realized I had probably forgotten the half of an outfit I had almost forgotten when packing.

We managed to squeeze in a quick stop at my absolute favorite vintage store,Rag-o-Rama, and as luck would have it they had the exact outfit I had envisioned. And for only $18. It was a Christmas miracle.

Sometimes, it really is the little things in life....

Delays

Pants and Shirt:Express,Tank:Old Navy,Vest:thrift store,Booties:Burlington Coat Factory

I apologize in advance for these pictures.

It's really not my fault.

See, I would do anything to be having sweet dreams in that warm cozy bed of mine right about now, which just so happens to be 10:58 PM...on Monday...after Christmas.

Except this little things called a flight delay happened. Due to this little thing called "mechanical issues." So much for sweet dreams...

Luckily someone (thank you Captain E and J-Dawg!) got me this little thing called an iPad for Christmas *insert happy dance here* and I'm now wondering how I would have survived this 5 hour lay-over without it....or pretty much anything else in general.

For the record, you can also take pictures to pass the time, although the lighting is wretched, the stares are...expected??,and the background is far from picturesque. Hey, don't blame me for the bad pictures...I already warned you.

Hope you all had a wonderful and enjoyable holiday weekend with your loved ones!

Winter Wear

Ear Muffs and Mittens: Duffy's, Sunglasses: H&M, Belt:Target, Turtleneck and leggings: American Apparel, Sweater Shawl: April Marin, Boots:Chinese Laundry

Sooooo I've got a confession.

I hate dressing for winter, ALWAYS, but especially in the city.

You go in a hot store and you come out and it's freezing cold. But then since you walk everywhere here you get hot again. And so it continues on in a vicious, vicious cycle.

I have finally come to learn that layering, some cute (furry) accessories and a lighter jacket (or sweater shawl in this case...love this one that I picked up at a shopping event earlier this year!) are the key to looking stylish while staying warm.

I have also learned that maybe I should just live in a warmer climate...

Let Man Week Commence

*Hello readers! This week I was feeling nice (haha!) && decided to dedicate the posts to all the men out there:) In honor of "Man Week", Mr. Runwaychef will be guest blogging (and modeling) several of the posts, starting with todays (so if it's bad don't blame me!).*

Pea Coat: Old Navy, Flannel & Pants: H&M, Thermal: Express, Shoes: Dockers

Alright ladies, let's put a brief hold on the female fashion and show some love for the guys. With the fall season in full swing keeping warm but also keeping from looking like an oversized cheese-puff is essential. Of course there are going to be those days that you will need to bundle up, but just basic layers will ensure that whatever cool weather may bring you will be prepared.

Let's start of with the upper body first...

Long sleeve thermal shirts are always a staple in my fall/winter wear for a few reasons, first they are warm (surprise, surprise) and secondly they tend to have less bulk when using them for layering.

Next up we have a flanel shirt (yes it is back in style) with an updated fit and style. So, for all you guys thinking that you can walk into your father's closet and take his, take this into consideration. Most retailers for the 30 and under crowd tend to offer a variety of colors and a more tailored fit opposed to what your father may have been rocking back in the 70's.

On to the lower body...

Jeans are always an easy way out for a choice in pants. Try to freshen up your legs with a slim pair of corduroys. Not only an alternative to and great pair of denim, but just as comfortable and versatile.

Last but not least onto the outerwear. Sure bubble-down has come back into the limelight, but a simple peacoat is timeless and will add shape to any fall outfit keeping that slim look alive.
